Animal ordinance passes second reading

An animal ordinance in Laurel County passed its second reading Tuesday.

The ordinance will regulate animals from being on the street during the World Chicken Festival.

It restricts the number of dogs and cats to residential property to no more than two, excluding puppies and kittens, and will require animals to be fenced in on property in the city limits.

There will be a public meeting on April 12th in the council meeting room at the city hall to discuss the measure.
