HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - The 42nd Annual Senior Citizens Radio Day was held at the WSGS studios in Hazard.
The event raises money to fund all the activities for the upcoming year for the Hazard-Perry County Senior Citizens' Center.
The chairman says its programs are important to the community and every penny given during the event is important.
“We only ask the citizens of Perry County to help us one day a year and everything we raise we'll take trips all over the county. Now we'll either raise enough money today to go to Gays Creek Campground or Nashville, Tennessee,” Rocky Hudson said.
Thanks to donations from local businesses and folks in the community the radiothon raised $75,000.
