FLORENCE, Ky. (AP) - Republican Boone County Judge-Executive
Gary Moore has announced he's running for Congress in Kentucky's
4th District, where U.S. Rep. Geoff Davis said last week he would
not seek another term.
The 54-year-old Moore, of Florence, says he's sorry to see Davis
go but believes his experience and conservative values will serve
the district well.
Moore is in his fourth term as judge-executive, a post he was
initially elected to in 1998 in his first run for public office.
Republican state Rep. Alecia Webb-Edgington of Fort Wright
announced Monday she would seek the 4th District seat.
Davis has represented the district that stretches from the
Louisville eastern suburbs to the West Virginia border since 2005.
He said he is leaving Congress to spend more time with family.
