Another coal company cuts back

Posted: Fri 6:46 PM, Jan 13, 2012

Another coal company announced cut backs Friday.

Patriot Coal Corporation is idling five underground coal mines in Southern West Virginia.

The company said the decision was because of a decline in demand for coal.

Company officials say they expect production to pick up as demand improves.

Patriot Coal operates mines in West Virginia and Kentucky.
