Police: Argument between father and son leads to shooting

Police are investigating a shooting that happened on Thursday night in Powell County.

The shooting happened on Snow Creek Road, near Clay City.

Investigators tell WKYT an argument between a father and son got out of hand. State police identify that father as 54-year-old Sterling Esteppe who lived at the home on Snow Creek Road with his son.

Police say he was intoxicated and shot his son several times.

Esteppe's son was taken to UK hospital. The Powell County Sheriff's Department says the son sustained two gunshot wounds to the abdomen, one to the arm, and one to the face. There's no word on his condition.

Esteppe was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
