Around 15 train cars derail in Lee County

LEE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT/WYMT) - An investigation is underway into a train derailment in eastern Kentucky.

The Lee County Emergency Management Director tells us around 15 train cars derailed near the Old Landing community near Beattyville.

It happened around 5:30 Tuesday night.

We're told the train cars were not hauling anything hazardous.

Investigators say no one was injured and there's no traffic impact, because the derailment happened near a rural road.
