State police say a man tried to rob a diner then tried to take off in a police cruiser.
State police responded to the Engle's Diner in Pineville on Sunday afternoon for an attempted hold up.
48-year-old Harold Asher was arrested and charged with attempted robbery and DUI.
He was also charged with attempted theft of a motor vehicle.
Investigators say he tried to steal the police cruiser of the county constable.
Police say Asher is wanted in several other counties.
