Attorney asks for lawsuit to be dismissed

A Perry County attorney is seeking to have a lawsuit filed against the county clerk dismissed.

Haven King is being sued by the Perry County Fiscal Court.

King allegedly improperly used thousands of dollars in the clerk’s office from 2007 to 2009.

The Hazard Herald reports Attorney James Hampton argues that the county failed to file the suit in a timely manner.

A hearing to dismiss the case is set for August 14th.
