Attorney for man accused of stabbing judge to pursue mental illness defense

The attorney for a Perry County man charged with stabbing a judge says the defense will pursue a mental illness defense.

Ronnie Brock was found competent to stand trial last week.

Police say he stabbed Judge Leigh Anne Stephens at a restaurant in 2010.

She was not seriously hurt.

A trial date is set for September 4th.
