Auditor: Whitley County Clerk might have violated code of ethics

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (WYMT) - The State Auditor's Office says the Whitley County Clerk might have violated the county's code of ethics.

The audit says the county paid nearly $3,000 to Blakes Fork Trading Post Company to move election equipment.

The clerk's husband is associated with the company.

Clerk Kay Schwartz claims no ethics violation was committed because it was a fiscal court claim, but she says she will not do it again.

The auditor recommended checking with the Cumberland Valley Board of Ethics to determine if it was a violation.
