ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Our crews traveled on the back roads, and major roads in and around Rockcastle County Friday morning, and saw the bad road conditions first hand.
A tractor-trailer turned over and had tow truck and emergency crews busy for much of the day.
The Rockcastle County Sheriffs Office spoke to a witness of the accident at mile marker 71 on the south bound side of I-75
The witness said the front end of the truck just kept drifting toward the right side of the road until it hit the guardrail, causing it to flip over an onto it's side.
We were told the driver was not injured, but its left a difficult task ahead for towing crews as they kept a wary eye on approaching traffic from the north.
The sheriffs department told us they worked around five accidents during the first part of the day, and recommended that drivers stay off the roads unless they have to be out.
"I've seen several cars off to the side of the road. It's extremely dangerous on the interstate. I'm sitting here waiting on a colleague of mine and were gonna debate on whether if we need to go further south or just hang it up. It's not worth it," said motorist Mitch Haup.
