Police say at a Walmart in Williamsburg Thursday night, a man came into the L&N Credit Union inside the store and robbed it at gunpoint.
Now, police think the so-called "Bad Hair Bandit" is responsible, a man already tied to six bank robberies in Kentucky and Tennessee.
"It was a little bit after six (this evening) we did have an armed robbery," confirmed Assistant Chief Rick Mosley of the Williamsburg Police Department.
Police are saying the suspect showed a semi-automatic weapon and walked away with an undisclosed amount of money.
Since June, the "Bad Hair Bandit" has hit two banks in Barbourville, two in Tennessee, one in McCreary County, and one in Corbin.
"We have reason to believe that it could be (the same person)," said Assistant Chief Mosley at the scene.
Mosley says the department was guarded against a possible strike by the "Bad Hair Bandit," at other locations, but didn't expect the suspect to target this bank inside a busy Walmart store.
"This was high risk with several people around," said Mosley who added that no one was injured in the robbery.
The search continues for the suspect, and the Williamsburg police say they are already working with the FBI to find this bank robber.
