A man wearing a blonde wig and foundation robbed the Forcht Bank on U.S. 25 E. just before 4 p.m. on Aug. 19.

Barbourville Police Department officials said the suspect was in the bank just under a minute and was carrying what is believed to be a black handgun.

The suspect is described as a white man with a medium to heavy build, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-9 wearing a long blonde wig, dark sunglasses, a blue shirt and khakis carrying a dark gym bag. Police say they believe the suspect has been involved in other robberies.

“We suspect it is the same individual that was involved with commercial bank here in Barbourville as well as a robbery in Jellico, Tennessee,” said Det. Steve Owens of the Barbourville Police Department.

The suspect left in a white car with headed Northbound on U.S. 25 E. Police said to be on the look out, especially around banks in the area.

“At at least two of the robberies he had been outside smoking a cigarette prior to entering the bank while wearing a wig,” said Owens.
“At first it was a dark wig, but this time it was a blonde wig,” he added.

The get away car had tinted windows and a three-to-four inch confederate flag decal on the windshield. It is missing a hubcap on the passenger's side. It is not known how much cash the suspect was able to get away with but no one was injured.
