FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Republican Andy Barr has raised more than $1 million for his general election bid to unseat Democratic U.S. Rep. Ben Chandler.
Barr said Tuesday that he raised more than $390,000 between April and June and that he still had more than $750,000 on hand.
All congressional candidates have to report their fundraising to the Federal Election Commission by the beginning of next week.
Barr, a Lexington attorney, sought a rematch with Chandler after losing to him two years ago. Chandler had reported that he had raised more than $1.2 million on his last financial update in May.
Chandler's next financial report is expected to show a substantially larger bank account.
