UPDATE 7-21-14

A Bell County man was indicted for allegedly holding a woman against her will along with beating her and her dog.

Scott McGeorge, 39, is facing several charges.

Bell County Sheriff's Deputies say McGeorge held a woman against her will for two days in May.

Deputies say they found the woman when friends say she had not shown up for work in a few days, and a deputy went to check on her at home.

"The closer he got to her, the more it appeared she'd been severely beaten," said Deputy Shane Stewart, Bell County Sheriff's Department.

The indictment says McGeorge bound Samantha McGeorge's arms with duct tape, beat her, choked her, and caused serious injuries all over her body.

Deputies say McGeorge has a history of domestic violence, and they believe the found the woman just in time.

"Obviously she was scared for her life, and it's untelling what would have happened if we hadn't gotten the call and Deputy Quillen hadn't investigated when he did," said Deputy Stewart.

Deputies say McGeorge also abused her chihuahua dog as well.

"Apparently Mr. McGeorge had abused that dog over that spell, kicked it repeatedly and caused it to be injured," said Deputy Stewart.

McGeorge is charged with assault, unlawful imprisonment, and cruelty to animals.

He pleaded not guilty to all charges.

He is being held in jail on a ten thousand dollar bond.

Sheriff's deputies say both the woman and the dog are recovering from their injuries.

Sheriff's deputies in Bell County said an anonymous tip saved one woman's life.

Deputy Joel Quillen said he got a call Monday about Samantha McGeorge who had not been heard from since Friday night.

"You always get a gut instinct," said Quillen. "You know people because you deal with them everyday."

Quillen said he knows McGeorge personally. This includes the history of domestic violence between her and her husband 39-year-old Scott McGeorge.

When the deputy got to the home in the Bird Branch community he said Samantha McGeorge tried to get him to leave.

The deputy said something told him to wait for her husband to return.

Quillen said Samantha McGeorge told him what happened.

"She said Saturday Scott began drinking and they got in a physical altercation," said Quillen. "She said he had beaten her severely, tied her up with duck tape, and held her at the residence until Monday morning."

Scott McGeorge was arrested on Monday and is at the Bell County Detention Center.

We asked Scott McGeorge for his side of the story.

"She may of said some things and I may of said some things," said Scott McGeorge. "We may of pushed and shoved or hit each other, but never did I tape her up."

Quillen said he is just thankful for quick thinking.

Deputies said Scott McGeorge is facing unlawful imprisonment, assault, and cruelty to animals charges.
