Bell County school upgrades moving forward

PINEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - The Bell County School Board is moving forward with plans to upgrade several schools.

Last year, the School Board passed a "recallable nickel" property tax increase to pay for improvements to the school buildings.

This week, the School Board hired an architect to start the design plans for projects at Yellow Creek, Bell Central, and Bell County High.

Officials say the "recallable nickel" gives the district $17.5 million dollars in bonding potential for the projects.
