Bell County inmate is back behind bars

An inmate who escaped from the Bell County Forestry Camp is back behind bars.

Middlesboro Police arrested Joe Michael Spoonamore early Saturday morning on Cumberland Avenue, charging him with second degree escape.

The Rockcastle County man ran away from the camp on Thursday afternoon. He was serving a 12-year sentence for possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and drug charges.

He is being lodged at the Bell County Detention Center.
