LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A Bellarmine University student from eastern Kentucky can relax a little after winning a sweepstakes that will provide $25,000 to help pay her student loan debt.
Junior Katie Tressel of Louisa won a sweepstakes by SmarterBank that will allow her to reduce her student debt. Tuition, room and board at Bellarmine costs around $43,000 annually.
Tressel told The Courier-Journal (http://cjky.it/UQanRC ) she wants to be a music therapist and continue with graduate work in psychology.
She says she doesn't expect that field to pay much and had expected to have to work a second job after graduation just to pay her student loans back.
