Bellarmine giving degrees to Kentucky & Indiana governors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - The Democratic governor of Kentucky and the Republican governor of Indiana are being given honorary degrees next month by Bellarmine University for their cooperation on issues including the Ohio River Bridges Project.

Steve Beshear of Kentucky and Mitch Daniels of Indiana are in their second terms as governors of their states.

Bellarmine plans to award each man an honorary doctor of law degree at its May 12 commencement.

Bellarmine President Joseph J. McGowan says Beshear and Daniels have worked together on infrastructure and economic development issues, particularly a financing plan for the bridges project to build two spans connecting Louisville and southern Indiana.
