Beware of Bed Bugs

State officials had to shut down the Corbin Career Center this week due to a bed bug infestation.

They are creepy, crawly, and they are in Corbin.

Officials had to close the Corbin Career Center this week because of a bed bug infestation.

It's an unforeseen circumstance that is now in the region.

Experts say they can hide just about everywhere.

“Anything involving clothing! They can hide in clothing and you pick them up somewhere and not even know you got it,” Rick Dye said.

Health officials say you can do plenty of things to make sure you stay away from these buggers.

Experts say it's important to routinely clean your sheets. If you are staying in a hotel room it's important to really examine your sheets to make sure you don't find any bedbugs.

Bed bugs can hide in your furniture and in your curtains too.

Experts say if you have a bug bed problem it's best to get help from professionals.

Typically you have to kill the little critters with heat.

Officials say the problem will get worse if people do not take precaution now.

State officials expect the Corbin Career Center to reopen on Monday.
