One man was stabbed and two others injured when a birthday celebration in Laurel County turned violent.
It happened last night when 23-year-old Jason Hallock says the argument started over beer leaving him stabbed five times.
What started as a day of fun, ended with blood shed and police cruisers lining Park Street in Lily.
"There's no reason to hit me and then stab me before I've even done anything. There was no reason," said Jason Hallock, who was stabbed.
It started when Jason Hallock says his neighbor, Russell Hibbard, was upset he could not take some beer home from the party at the end of the street.
Everyone there says it was a beautiful day involving games of horse shoes and a few beers all for a birthday celebration that no one expected to get out of hand.
Hallock says he jumped in when Hibbard was yelling at his father and later did not even notice Hibbard had allegedly stabbed him.
"The only thing I felt was a nick on the back of my neck when he got that. I thought he maybe punched a nerve or maybe struck something a little hard back there. I didn't think of it until he said if you hit me again, I will kill you," said Hallock.
Hibbard's wife says she did not see her husband stabbing Hallock but says her husband was in bad shape and beer is to blame.
"We think alcohol was involved, but as far as their level of their intoxication, not known at this time," said Laurel County Sheriff's Deputy Gilbert Acciardo.
No matter what caused the altercation, it is easy to say the fight went too far.
"I was hitting his face as he was hitting my side. I mean I may have put some cuts on his face. I don't know," said Hallock.
The Laurel County Sheriff's Department is still investigating and will hand the case over to a grand jury.
