Update: Body Found in Harlan County

Update: August 25th

We now know who was found dead near a mine site in Harlan County earlier this week.

The body of 38 year old William Justin Muncy of Hulen was discovered near a sub station on the property of R & B Coal Company.

Officials believe Muncy was electrocuted while trying to steal copper.


Officials tell us that a body has been found near a mining site in the Smith Community of Harlan County.

We are told the body was found near an electrical substation. It is not determined yet if the body is that of a miner, however officials say they believe the person was electrocuted.

A rescue squad is on scene in Harlan County we hope to have more.
