FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Former U.S. Sen. Jim Bunning has weighed
in on Kentucky's race for auditor by endorsing Republican John
Kemper.
The Kemper campaign announced the endorsement on Friday.
Kemper and Democrat Adam Edelen are running for the auditor's
job, which is being vacated by term-limited incumbent Crit Luallen.
Bunning, a former Major League baseball pitcher, served in the
U.S. House and Senate for more than two decades. Bunning's base of
support is in the Republican-leaning northern Kentucky area where
GOP candidates for state-level offices have been campaigning
heavily in recent weeks.
