LEXINGTON, Ky. (WYMT) - UK coach John Calipari said on his radio show Wednesday night Nerlens Noel will have options.
Noel's season ended Tuesday night with a torn ACL but the injury is not career ending.
Calipari said he could enter the NBA draft in June or choose to return to UK.
Noel's draft status is not expected to slip much, he's rated a top five pick.
The 6-10 freshman will undergo surgery in the next two to three weeks, then face a lengthy rehab.
Calipari met with Noel Tuesday. "He'll in all likelihood still have an opportunity to put his name in the draft, he will and it's not going to move that much. I told him don't feel pressed, because after going through six or seven months of rehab you may say, 'I'm not ready now to walk into a training camp that's all new.' And then you come back and you become the best big man in the country again."
