Candidates push for votes ahead of Tuesday primary

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Candidates for congressional and
legislative seats have fanned out across Kentucky in search of
votes on the last full day of campaigning ahead of Tuesday's
primary.

Republican congressional hopefuls locked in a competitive race
in northern Kentucky's 4th district spent Monday urging supporters
to go to the polls. That's an important task considering Secretary
of State Alison Lundergan Grimes has predicted that only 10 to 12
percent of Kentucky's nearly three million registered voters will
bother to cast ballots.

Republican Mitt Romney already has an apparently lock on the GOP
presidential nomination, which has left some Kentucky voters
feeling little need to participate.

Voters will have a say in five contested congressional primary
races, 38 legislative races, and several local races across the
state.
