Kentucky's Christmas tree will be shining brightly starting on Thursday night.
Governor Steve Beshear and First Lady Jane Beshear will light the tree on Thursday evening.
The ceremony will be at 6:30 p.m. on the front steps of the Capitol.
This year, the state is using an evergreen that was already growing on the front lawn.
