Car crash in Knox County

STINKING CREEK, Ky. (WYMT) - A car accident in Knox County held up traffic on Highway 718 in Stinking Creek for 15 minutes on Saturday.

Officials say Kenneth Simpson of Barbourville lost control of his car and hit a culvert. They say the car flipped around after it made impact. One of the first responders says he did not see any injuries on Simpson.

"He looked alright but you never know with a hit like that, because the airbags were deployed on the car. To do that , he took a hard lick," said Chief Bill Ferro, the Chief of the Stinking Creek Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department.

Chief Ferro says he does not know if any substances were involved in the crash.
