WYMT Severe Weather Alert

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for all of Southeastern Kentucky until 10pm tonight. The primary threats from this system will be strong winds and large hail. Isolated tornadic activity certainly can't be ruled out of the equation.

Car accident leaves one injured

A Bell County woman is critical condition following a car accident Sunday night.

Sheriff's officials say 57-year-old Glenda Berndt was driving on Fonde Road outside of Middlesboro when she lost control of her car, hit a guardrail and went down an embankment.

Berndt had to be extricated from the car by the Bell County Rescue Squad.

She was taken to Middlesboro ARH and later flown to the UT Medical Center.

Police are still investigating the accident.
