One man is rescued after his car went over the mountain at the Pikeville overlook.

Pikeville police say a witness called 9-1-1 at two o'clock and reported the truck went through the fence and down the mountain.

The truck fell several hundred feet and then stopped at a tree.

Pikeville firefighters were able to climb down the mountain and pull the man from the truck.

“Really not for sure what has happened. What we do know is the vehicle breached the fence line and it did go 350 feet over the mountain. The Pikeville Police Department is actively investigating this case to try and come to the means why it ended up over the mountain,” Officer Paul Maynard said.

The man went to Pikeville Medical Center.

His name and the extent of his injuries are not known.
