Severe weather looks likely later this afternoon. The best chances appear to be between 3 p.m. and Midnight. Damaging winds, large hail, heavy rain, and an isolated tornado or two are possible. Anyone traveling on Highway 80 near the Knott-Perry County line late on the afternoon of Jan. 27 might have noticed a bizarre sight.
A car caught fire on the highway at around 5:30 p.m.
WYMT cameras were there as a black Volkswagen Beetle was engulfed in flames. The Fisty and Rowdy volunteer fire departments responded to the call. Kentucky State Police dispatchers said that no one was injured and the fire was due to an electrical problem in the vehicle.
