A 60-year-old woman led police on a chase Thursday night in Harlan County for more than 10 miles.
Betty Drew has no criminal history, but that changed last night when she refused to pull over.
Lynch Police Chief Mike Nunley was driving along Highway 119 Thursday night when he noticed a car swerving in and out of traffic.
He initiated a traffic stop, and the suspect pulled off the road.
That's when Chief Nunley says things started getting unusual.
He says the suspect started slowly pulling her car forward, so he did the same. She pulled here car forward again.
This time Chief Nunley got out of his car, and the suspect merged back onto Highway 119 heading towards Harlan.
60 year old Betty Drew then led police on a chase at only 60 miles per hour, but despite police lights she drove for more than 10 miles before ever stopping.
"We were assisted by KSP and Harlan Sheriffs Office and Benham PD and were able to box the car in, and get it on the shoulder of the road," said Chief Nunley.
Drew was arrested for fleeing and evading police, but she told Mountain News over the phone that she just made a terrible mistake and should have just pulled over.
Police say no drugs or alcohol were involved.
