A controversial dunking booth, involving the Casey Anthony case, has been shut down at the Bluegrass Fair.

Crews were tearing down the dunking booth at 6:30 Tuesday night.

Officials with the Bluegrass Fair in Lexington responded to WKYT viewers, many of whom questioned the booth.

Many negative comments about the booth were posted to wkyt.com after our story about it aired Monday night at 11.

Many of the comments said the booth was in poor taste. It featured someone impersonating Anthony, and the words "guilty" and "not guilty" on the sides.

The Lions Club, a non-profit charitable organization which sponsors the fair, rented space to the operator of the booth.

Bluegrass Fair Chairman Ron Mossotti says booths similar to this, where the person being dunked taunts the thrower, are typically seen at fairs throughout the country.

Mossotti also says he knew the Casey Anthony booth would be controversial, but he had no idea it would get such a negative reaction online.

"Reading the comments, of course we take notice," Mossotti said, "we have a reputation to uphold."
