ARLINGTON, Tx. (WYMT)- We are a little more than 24 hours away from Kentucky playing in the Final Four. The Wildcats will play the Wisconsin Badgers Saturday night for the right to play for a national championship.
Tomorrow is a day all about the player, but today is all about the fans and the media, fans getting a chance to watch the cats at their open practice here at AT&T Stadium, and reporters getting to ask the players and coaches about their game plan to make it to the national title game.
Kentucky is looking for its ninth national championship, but the cats will have to defeat Wisconsin if they want a shot at the ultimate prize.
U.K. head coach John Calipari praised the teamed his Cats will be playing tomorrow saying, “I will tell you that they're more athletic than you think they're more skilled than you think they're, not relying solely on an offense. They're not. They're running great iso’s for all their guys so they put them in a position where it's one on one. They haven't done a lot of that in the past but what I'm seeing now they are.”
UK is an eight seed and champion of the midwest region, while the Badgers won the west region as a two seed.
Ben Brust of Wisconsin says, “ I just think it's gonna be a great matchup. It doesn't matter what everyone has us at or what seed if you get to here at this point the Final Four in March obviously you're playing very well and there for a reason so no matter what it's gonna be a battle and looking forward to it.”
The cats and badgers are getting set for a Texas-sized showdown on college basketball's biggest stage. They are set to tip off Saturday just before 9:00 PM on TBS.
