"It's reliving a lot of memories," said close friend of Sam Catron, William Cain.
Memories were shared of a close friend and colleague.
"I can't drive by this spot without thinking about it. I can't go in the back door where the sheriff's office is, without thinking about it," added Cain.
...and brother.
"The remembering my brother is always a good day. But it does, it gets to me," said Lewis Catron.
Who in his time as sheriff, helped expand his office, even incorporating a helicopter.
"Time softens the blow, it does not take it away. It's always there," noted Cain.
Lewis Catron agrees, and says even though ten years have past since his brother was gunned down at the same spot where the memorial was held, some days are harder than others.
"I'm still thinking about him. I'm still, waiting on that phone call where we talked every day," said Catron.
"But it is a time to remember Sam's life. And that's what I hope I said. We were blessed to have him here," said Cain.
"So as we close this I'll say...rest in peace my friend. You are remembered, you are remembered," Cain said, closing the ceremony.
