WYMT Severe Weather Alert

We're tracking the possibility of more storms rolling through today, with some of them being strong to severe. The Storm Prediction Center has the entire area under a slight risk for severe weather through this evening. The main threats at this point look to be wind and hail. We will continue to monitor the situation and update you as needed.

Child improving after being burned in house fire

A young boy injured in a trailer fire is improving.

Brandon Bayes, 6, has been upgraded from serious to fair condition at UK Hospital. Bayes was injured Saturday while trying to go back into his family's burning home in Laurel County to save a pet.

His mother also suffered injuries when she went in after him. Two other children and their grandmother escaped without injury.
