The Christmas season really kicks off Friday with the official opening of the skating ring at Triangle Park.
The grand opening is at 2 Friday afternoon, with food, arts and craft vendors out as well. Fees are $10 for 90 minutes with or without skate rental, which is free.
Then at 6, Lexington's Christmas tree will be lit. There will also be free carriage rides downtown from 7 to 10.
