So what's the best way for officials in Pulaski and McCreary Counties to pay a $456,000 legal bill they now owe in the case?
Christian radio host David Carr has asked churches in those counties to donate $1,000 each to help pay the bill.
He's also asked pastors to donate $100 each.
Pulaski County officials say they support the effort.
"If that happened, we'd come up with most of the money to pay off the debt probably," Pulaski County Judge-Executive Barty Bullock said.
Pulaski County officials say they've received some donations already.
They'll also consider borrowing money to pay for the legal bill.
