There's a move underway in London to expand alcohol sales.

A petition is being circulated in the Laurel County seat that would call for a vote to allow the sale of bottled liquor, wine and beer.

Right now London only allows alcohol sales by the drink in larger restaurants.

The change would open the door to package stores and grocery store sales.

The Times Tribune reports it will take about 500 signatures on a petition to get the issue on the ballot.
