City is closer to receiving grant

Officials in Lynch are one step closer to remodeling the city's decades-old firehouse.

The city has been awarded a $240,000 grant to do the work. There's one catch, they must come up with $60,000 in matching funds.

The plans call for putting a roof on the aging structure and getting it cleaned out and up to code.

City officials hope they can come up with the money to match the grant so they don't lose this chance.
