The city of Manchester is officially wet.
The majority of folks living in the city limits voted yes to sell packagable liquor.
Manchester Mayor George Saylor says two liquor stores are slated to go up in town in the coming weeks and convenience stores and gas stations will be able to sell beer.
Two restaurants in town could see the ability to sell alcohol to their patrons soon as a result.
“They can expect us to be responsible in that. We're good business owners we're responsible to our citizens and our employees. But the decision will be based basically on business, what's right for me and my employees,” Theresa Chambers said.
The vote to make Manchester wet passed with 381 "yes" votes and 249 "no".
Mayor Saylor says the city has sixty days to act on the new law before it would need to be voted on again.
