City receives grant for water line project

Thousands of dollars in grant money is coming to Elkhorn City to improve water lines.

Monday afternoon in Pikeville, state and county officials presented Elkhorn City leaders with checks totaling $100,000.

Leaders say the water system is old and needs repairs.

This grant money will help.

“New sewer lines, new water lines, new water hook-ups, new drain lines. It will make a big difference for Elkhorn City,” Mayor Mike Taylor said.

Mayor Taylor says he is applying for more grant money to fix the swimming pool and make other improvements to the city.
