Mobile home park sees repeated flooding

The water is going down at the Treehaven mobile home park near the Clark and Fayette county lines, but the people who live here say it's just a matter of time until they have to deal with it again.

For many of the residents today is just another rainy day, flooding included. They say whenever they get a heavy downpour the homes closest to this creek are in jeopardy.

"The major problem is the runoff from the interstate," said Doug Wallen who lives in the flood prone part of the park.

The owner of the park is aware of the problem but says there wasn't a problem at all until a few years ago when he says interstate construction changed the runoff around the park.

"They took out the gully between the interstate and Rockwell Road and it's basically doubled all the pavement that we get runoff on. Anytime we get a hard rain we're flooded, happens two to three times a year.

Igo says he's talked to state officials about the problem but so far there haven't been any changes.
