Click It or Ticket campaign kicks off

As the days get hotter and summer gets closer, more police will be out patrolling the roadways.

Kentucky State Police in conjunction with other law enforcement are kicking off their annual Click It or Ticket campaign.

Starting this Sunday, you can expect to see more checkpoints throughout the state.

Police will be checking for seat belts, speeding, and drugs or alcohol.

"We just want everyone to be aware that we are going to be out. We will have check points and special details, more law enforcement will be on the highways," said Tony Watts with Kentucky State Police.

Police say this is not about writing citations, but about saving lives.

The campaign will end June 3rd.
