A clothing store in Hazard opened this morning to an unexpected surprise of a broken glass window in the storefront.
Police say it happened after Maurices closed at six p.m. Sunday just off Black Gold Boulevard.
Preliminary investigation reports show a brick was thrown through the window, which is where the burglar then entered and stole 300 dollars in cash from the register.
Police say store managers are checking the inventory to determine if any merchandise was stolen as well.
"We are working on a few leads from video surveillance from other storefronts, but right now that's where we're at. Just at a stand still right now," said Zach Miller, with the Hazard Police Department.
Anyone with information about this burglary is urged to call the Hazard Police Department at (606) 436-2222.
