Coal educators from Pikeville make presentation to students in North Carolina

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - Officials with Coal Education Development and Resource, known as CEDAR, gave a unique presentation in Pikeville on Thursday.

The coal presentation took place at the University of Pikeville but was received by students more than 400 miles away in Bolivia, North Carolina by using Skype

The group of students from Brunswick Early College High School is learning about different forms of energy sources.

President of CEDAR, John Justice says, "This is the first time we have ever done something like this. Taking our coal education not only out of this region but out of the state, and actually out to the East Coast."

The presenter, Rusty Justice, spoke with students about what exactly coal is and how it is turned into energy.
