BELL COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - The Colmar fire station in Bell County is officially open!

The fire station closed in 2011 during a funding dispute with the fiscal court.

The Bell County Volunteer Fire Department and fiscal court reached a new funding agreement, so the fire station re-opened.

Firefighters held a grand opening ceremony this past weekend to re-open the station.

Another closed Bell County fire station will re-open later this month.

The Bell County Volunteer Fire Department shut down the Colmar fire station nearly three years ago during a funding dispute with the fiscal court.

Now that the fiscal court has approved funding the volunteer fire departments again, the Colmar station will re-open.

Firefighters are planning a grand opening celebration on June 28th. It starts at 9:00am at the fire station. Food will also be available.
