PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT)- Assistant Pike County Attorney Eddie Green, who is only 34, is used to fighting for justice.
But now, he is fighting for his life.
“Eddie is a great guy. He does a great job for the people of this county but on top of that, he is an even better person,” attorney and friend Tommy Chamberlin said.
As Green battles cancer, his coworkers are providing strength through Team Eddie T-shirt, prayer chains, and now green ribbons.
“In support of Eddie, to keep him going and to let him know how much we love him,” co-worker Tawanya Coleman said.
“In a situation like his, you might feel like you’re alone, but we want him to know that everybody stands with him,” Chamberlin adds.
Green’s co-workers describe their bond with him as a close one. They consider themselves on big family.
“Every time somebody talks to him or has a prayer request for him, it ups his enthusiasm and makes him fight a little harder,” Coleman said.
The support for Green doesn’t stop with his work family.
“Outside of our little work circle, we’ve seen so many rally to support him in this difficult time,” Coleman said.
Coming together as Team Eddie, to rally around a man who they say is a friend to everyone he meets.
“Just standing behind him, he needs to know that from everybody,” Coleman said.
Making sure he knows they are with him every step of the way.
