Community egg drop to be held in Pikeville

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - The 2nd annual community egg drop will be held in Pikeville on Friday.

Organizers with Trinity Harvest Church say the free event will have a carnival like atmosphere...with 24 inflatables, a dunking booth with state police, face painting, food vendors, live music, and more.

The main event is the Easter egg hunt featuring 20,000 eggs and thousands of those eggs will be dropped from a helicopter. Dusty Stanley says, "it is not every day you see eggs falling out of the sky, especially from a helicopter. So much anticipation and excitement builds as you wait for that to happen, so we are just on edge right now preparing, getting everything ready for tomorrow. We are just so excited that we are able to do this for our community."

The event will take place from 4pm-7pm at Bob Amos Park.
