“This man was elected to be a law enforcement officer for Clay County and this community and he's failed to do so and you are held to a higher standard as a law enforcement officer,” Manchester Police Chief Chris Fultz said.

Police say Jack Roberts is a convicted felon and was elected last year.

The couple was taken to the Laurel County Detention Center.

The Manchester Police Department, Clay County Sheriff's Department, Operation UNITE and the ATF investigated the case.
