Contract negotiations are ongoing between one eastern Kentucky hospital and its union employees.

The current contract between the Service Employees International Union and Highlands Regional Medical Center in Floyd County is set to expire at midnight July 9th.

The Floyd County Times reports the members include service, maintenance, technical, and clerical employees.

Nurses are not included in the union.

Highlands COO Chris Hoffman says he is confident an agreement will be reached before the deadline.
